Our verdict on the best uncensored AI chatbots
Short version: start with Venice AI if you want a free plan, FreedomGPT if you want the most models, Ollama or LM Studio if you want everything on your own computer, and Unrestricted AI if you'll pay for low-refusal chat and live web search in one app, with images on the Max plan. Grok, Mistral Vibe and DeepSeek are good general assistants, but they're mainstream tools with their own usage rules, not uncensored chatbots. No legal service has zero rules. What differs is where each one draws the line, and whether it tells you.
Uncensored AI chatbots compared, feature by feature
Most lists for this search give you star ratings with no method behind them. We give you the boring facts that decide what you'll actually pay for: free plan, starting price, live web search, images, phone app and where your chats are kept. Filter the table by what you need. Every row links to the pages we read.

The best uncensored AI chatbots of 2026, one by one
Each review uses the same format: what it's best for, what's good, what isn't, and the official pages behind it. The first six are built to refuse less. The last three are mainstream assistants people often ask about. Deeper dives: our Venice AI alternatives guide and our FreedomGPT alternatives breakdown.
Venice AI
venice.aiBest free plan- Free plan: 10 text and 15 image prompts a day, no card
- Says chat history stays on your device, not its servers

- Free plan is tight for daily work
- Premium models, video and music cost credits
- Paid tiers jump from $18 to $68 and $200 a month
Verdict · The strongest free starting point on this list. Venice says every tier includes uncensored models; heavy use pushes you toward credits.
Best for · Trying an uncensored AI chatbot before paying
FreedomGPT
freedomgpt.comMost model choice- 400+ models, including censor-free ones like Liberty
- Try it with no card and no account
- Web search and image generation on the free tier

- No free plan or free trial

Grok (xAI)
x.aiLive news and X- Free to try on web and in the apps
- Searches the web and X live
- Imagine makes images and short videos

Mistral Vibe
chat.mistral.aiEuropean all-rounder- Free plan with web search and basic images
- Pro at $14.99 a month
- iOS and Android apps

- No subscription to manage
- Paid API if you build your own tools
- Data stored in China, per its privacy policy

Is there a free uncensored AI chatbot?
Yes, with limits. As of October 2026, these are the free options for an uncensored AI chatbot, according to each official site:
- 01Venice AI10 text prompts and 15 image prompts a day, no credit card.
- 02FreedomGPTtry it without a card or an account; web search and images are on the free tier, and usage runs on credits.
- 03NoFilterGPTa free Basic plan with a daily message cap it doesn't publish, and shorter answers than Pro.
- 04Ollama or LM Studiofree software. The real cost is your hardware and setup time.
- 05Grok, Mistral Vibe and DeepSeekfree tiers too, but these are general assistants with their own usage policies.
Unrestricted AI has no free plan or free trial. That's a trade-off we chose: no free tier means no ads and no selling data to pay for it. Plans and allowances are on our pricing page.
Which is the most uncensored AI chatbot in 2026?
Nobody has published comparable refusal data, so any single winner is a guess dressed up as a ranking. Three things decide how uncensored an AI chatbot feels:
- 01The model. On multi-model apps, two models in the same app can behave very differently.
- 02The hidden instructions.Hosted services shape behavior with system prompts. That's where lectures and disclaimers come from, or don't.
- 03The terms.Every legal service bans something. Ours is a short public list: anything involving minors, sexual or fake images of real people, and helping someone hurt others.
The most control comes from an open-weight model on your own machine; our guide to uncensored LLMs and our explainer on abliterated models cover how that works. Among hosted services, Venice says every tier includes uncensored models, FreedomGPT offers censor-free models like Liberty, and our Max plan runs our most permissive model. For how the big mainstream assistants compare, see which AI is actually uncensored.
The fair test is your own prompts. Take three requests a mainstream assistant refused you, run them wherever a free plan exists, and judge the answers, not the marketing.
How to choose an uncensored AI chatbot
The finder above handles the quick version. If you want to think it through, weigh these:
- 01Free vs paid.Free plans are for testing. If you'll use it daily, compare what a month of your real use costs, credits included.
- 02Current facts.Need answers about today? Pick a chatbot with live web search, and prefer one that shows its sources.
- 03Dark fiction and long writing.Look for long, coherent answers and no moralizing. Our uncensored AI writer page shows what that looks like.
- 04Phone apps.Venice, FreedomGPT, Uncensored AI, Grok, Mistral Vibe and DeepSeek have store apps. NoFilterGPT and Unrestricted AI run in your mobile browser.
- 05Privacy.Local models first. Among hosted ones, read where chats are stored and whether they train on them.
- 06Age.Unrestricted AI is for adults only (18+). Venice's terms allow users from 13 with a parent's consent, with a mature filter minors can't turn off.
Venice, FreedomGPT and Uncensored AI mix monthly plans with credits for premium models, video or extra usage. An $18 plan can cost more if your favorite model eats credits. Read what the credits cover before you upgrade.
What we left out (NSFW companion apps) and why
Many pages ranking for “uncensored AI chatbot” are really lists of companion and adult roleplay apps. We left those out on purpose. They're built for a different job, their “tested” claims rarely come with a method, and they're not what most people mean when they want an assistant that answers straight.
We also dropped tools we couldn't verify. Poe and Duck.ai didn't show current subscription prices on the official pages we checked in October 2026, so they're not in the table. And we skipped jailbreak prompts. They get patched, break the platform's rules (xAI's policy bans them outright), and turn every chat into a fight. A tool that's permissive by design is less work.
How we checked (and what we didn't do)
- We read each official pricing page, feature page, app store listing and privacy or usage policy in October 2026.
- We recorded only what those pages say, with the source links shown under each review.
- Where an official page was unclear or contradicted itself, we said so instead of picking the nicer number.
- We applied the same six criteria to every tool, including ours.
What we did not do: we didn't run refusal tests, invent scores or star ratings, or count users. We didn't take payment or affiliate commissions from anyone listed. Our own facts come from our product, not from a test. If a price or feature changes, the date above tells you how fresh this is.
